Cheeseburger with Bacon and Crispy Fried Onions Recipe

The ultimate comfort food is this Cheeseburger with Bacon and Crispy Fried Onions. Crispy bacon, melty cheddar cheese, and golden-brown fried onions top juicy burger patties for a flavor and texture explosion in every bite.

Ingredients

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 20 minutes
  • Total Time: 35 minutes

Instructions

  • Heat a grill or grill pan on medium-high.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape each into a 1/2-inch thick patty.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy.
  • Remove the bacon and set it aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pan.
  • Cook until the onion is softened and lightly browned in the skillet with the bacon fat, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a separate shallow dish.
  • Shake off any excess seasoned flour from the sliced onions.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil.
  • Cook until the dredged onions are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Set the onions aside after removing them from the pan.
  • Grill the burger patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until done to your preference.
  • Grill each burger patty with a slice of cheddar cheese until the cheese is melted.
  • Grill or toast the hamburger buns in a toaster oven.
  • Place a patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of each bun to make the burgers.
  • 1 slice bacon and a generous portion of crispy fried onions should be placed on top of each patty.
  • Place your preferred condiments on top of the onions, then top with the top half of the bun to complete the burger.
  • Serve right away and enjoy.
