  • Preheat the grill to medium-high.
  • Combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce in a large mixing bowl.
  • Combine thoroughly.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form into patties.
  • Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  • Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty in the last minute of grilling.
  • Grill the hamburger buns for 1-2 minutes on each side.
