- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Bake the waffle fries for 20-25 minutes, or until crispy, on a baking sheet.
- Meanwhile, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
- Divide the mixture into four equal parts and form into patties.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are softened and browned.
- Set the onions aside after removing them from the skillet.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the burger patties are cooked through.
- Add a slice of cheese to each patty during the last minute of cooking and allow it to melt.
